Tree Pose
Glutes, Core, Lower Body StabilizersBodyweight
Tree Pose is an isometric balance hold that strengthens the feet, calves, thighs, and core. It sharpens coordination, stability, and posture, while reaching overhead adds upper-body engagement.
How to do it
1Stand tall with your feet together and your weight evenly distributed.
2Shift your weight onto one leg and place the opposite foot against your inner calf or thigh.
3Keep your foot clearly above or below your knee joint to avoid pushing directly on it.
4Bring your palms together at your chest or reach arms overhead with shoulders relaxed.
5Hold your balance by focusing your eyes on a fixed spot in front of you.
Common mistakes
Pressing your foot directly onto the knee joint, creating dangerous sideways pressure.
Popping your hip out to the side, throwing off spine alignment.
Shrugging your shoulders toward your ears and holding your breath, creating neck tension.
Breathing
Breathe slowly and steadily throughout the hold without holding your breath.
Make it harder or easier
To make it easier, place your foot on your lower calf or kickstand your toes on the floor.
To make it harder, try closing your eyes or moving your arms slowly overhead.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
