World's Greatest Stretch
Full Body, Hip Flexors, Thoracic Spine, HamstringsBodyweight
A dynamic compound stretch engaging the legs, hip flexors, hamstrings, and thoracic spine. Widely considered the gold standard for full-body mobility and pre-workout warm-ups.
How to do it
1Step into a deep lunge and place both hands on the floor inside your front foot.
2Keep your back leg straight and your hips square.
3Drop the elbow of the inside arm down toward your front ankle.
4Rotate your torso and reach that arm straight up to the ceiling, tracking your hand with your eyes.
5Return your hand to the floor and shift your hips back, straightening your front leg to stretch the hamstring.
Common mistakes
Rounding your back during the rotation, missing out on thoracic mobility.
Bending the back knee, which cuts off the hip flexor stretch.
Losing your balance due to a narrow stance.
Breathing
Sync your movement with your breath, exhaling fully as you rotate toward the ceiling.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, drop your back knee to the floor.
To maximize the challenge, keep the back leg fully locked out throughout all phases.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
