Wall-Assisted Quad Stretch
QuadsWall or Chair Support
Stretch your quadriceps while using a wall for stability. Standing balance support lets you relax deeper into the stretch.
How to do it
1Stand sideways to a wall and place one hand on it for support.
2Shift your weight to your standing leg, bend your other knee, and grab your ankle behind you with your free hand.
3Gently pull your heel toward your glute, keeping your knees together and torso upright.
4Tuck your pelvis slightly forward until you feel a comfortable stretch in the front of your thigh.
5Hold the position, then slowly release and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Letting your knee flare outward or drift forward away from your standing leg.
Arching your lower back and tilting your pelvis forward.
Bouncing into the stretch instead of holding a steady position.
Breathing
Breathe slowly and deeply, relaxing deeper into the stretch on every exhale.
Make it harder or easier
Loop a strap or towel around your ankle if you can't reach your foot. To intensify the stretch, tuck your tailbone under and slightly bend your standing leg.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
