Kettlebell Waiter's Carry

Kettlebell Waiter's Carry

Delts, traps, rotator cuff, coreKettlebell

A loaded carry walking with a kettlebell locked out overhead. This exercise builds dynamic shoulder stability, strengthens the rotator cuff, and challenges your core.

How to do it

1Press a kettlebell overhead with one arm and lock your elbow out completely.
2Brace your core, pack your shoulder down, and make sure your torso is perfectly upright.
3Walk forward slowly and deliberately, maintaining your balance.
4Keep your shoulder away from your ear and don't let your hips sway or tilt.
5Walk the prescribed distance, carefully lower the weight, and repeat on the other side.

Common mistakes

Leaning your torso to the side, which ruins your alignment and unevenly loads your spine.
Letting your elbow bend while walking, which compromises shoulder stability.
Arching your lower back due to a lack of core tension.

Breathing

Breathe smoothly and rhythmically, matching your breath to your steps without holding your air.

Make it harder or easier

To scale down, use a lighter kettlebell or shorten your walking distance.
To scale up, use a heavier weight or walk along a narrow, straight line.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
