V-Sit Hold

V-Sit Hold

Abs, Hip FlexorsBodyweight

A bodyweight core exercise that builds strength in the abs and hip flexors. It requires solid balance and total body control.

How to do it

1Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat in front of you.
2Lean your torso back with a straight spine and lift your feet off the floor, forming a V-shape with your body.
3Extend your arms forward, parallel to the floor, to help maintain your balance.
4Hold this position, keeping your core tight and your back flat.
5Slowly lower your legs and torso back to the floor to return to the starting position.

Common mistakes

Rounding your spine, which shifts the load to your lower back.
Holding your breath during the hold, which increases internal pressure and limits endurance.
Dropping your legs or torso to the floor abruptly instead of controlling the descent.

Breathing

Breathe smoothly and deeply throughout the hold—never hold your breath.

Make it harder or easier

To scale down, bend your knees to 90 degrees or place your hands on the floor behind you; to scale up, fully straighten your legs.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
