Tuck L-Sit to Tuck Front Lever

Tuck L-Sit to Tuck Front Lever

Core, Lats, ShouldersGymnastic Rings

The tuck L-sit to front lever transition builds core, lat, and shoulder strength, requiring high coordination and spatial control on rings.

How to do it

1Hang from the rings and lift your bent legs in front of you into a tuck L-sit.
2Brace your abs and back to hold your torso stable.
3Lean your shoulders back while driving your hips and bent legs into a horizontal tuck front lever.
4Hold the tuck front lever position for the target time.
5Reverse the movement under control to return to the tuck L-sit.

Common mistakes

Completely relaxing your core during the transition, causing your hips to sag.
Bending your arms instead of pulling through your back and shoulders.
Using jerking momentum, which destroys stability on the rings.

Breathing

Maintain steady breathing, exhaling through the hardest phase of the transition.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, use a resistance band under your hips for support.
To make it harder, perform the transition with an open knee angle.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
