Tuck Front Lever Hold on Rings
Back, Shoulders, CoreGymnastic Rings
The tuck front lever hold on rings is an isometric exercise that builds back, shoulder, and core strength while preparing upper body tendons for advanced gymnastics elements.
How to do it
1Grip the rings and hang with completely straight arms.
2Pull your knees tight to your chest and lean your upper body back.
3Press down hard on the rings with straight arms to bring your torso horizontal.
4Keep your back parallel to the floor, without letting your hips drop below shoulder level.
5Hold this static position completely still for the target time.
Common mistakes
Bending your elbows: Makes the hold easier but takes tension off the lats.
Dropping your hips below shoulder level: Breaks the horizontal line and disengages the abs.
Relaxing your shoulder blades: Leads to shoulder instability and loss of control.
Breathing
Breathe smoothly and rhythmically, avoiding long breath holds during the static stay.
Make it harder or easier
To make it easier, tuck your knees as close to your chest as possible.
To make it harder, shift your knees slightly forward away from your chest to increase leverage.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
