Tuck Back Lever Hold
Back, Shoulders, Triceps, AbsPull-Up Bar
This static bar element strengthens the shoulders, triceps, and back. It develops shoulder extension mobility and body awareness in an inverted position, using bent legs to reduce joint strain.
How to do it
1Grip the bar overhand and pull your knees to your chest.
2Invert your body by passing your legs between your arms until your back faces the floor.
3Lower your hips to parallel with the ground while keeping your knees tucked to your belly.
4Engage your back and arm muscles to prevent your shoulders from overstretching.
5Hold the horizontal position for the target duration.
Common mistakes
Completely relaxing your shoulders, placing passive tensile stress on your ligaments.
Extending your legs too early, spiking the leverage before your shoulders can handle it.
Arching your lower back, which reduces core activation and overloads the lumbar spine.
Breathing
Maintain deep, steady breathing throughout the hold—do not hold your breath.
Make it harder or easier
To regress, pull your thighs as tightly to your chest as possible.
To progress, open the angle at your hips to move your knees further away from your body.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
