TRX Triceps Extension

TRX Triceps Extension

TricepsTRX Suspension Trainer

A bodyweight tricep isolation exercise that builds arm strength and shoulder stability. Requires strict elbow positioning and tight core control throughout.

How to do it

1Face away from the TRX anchor, grab the handles, and lean forward into the straps.
2Raise your elbows in front of you to shoulder height or slightly higher.
3Bend your elbows to lower your hands toward the back of your head or forehead.
4Press through your triceps to straighten your arms and push your body back up.
5Keep your entire body in a rigid plank from head to heels throughout the set.

Common mistakes

Flaring your elbows out to the sides, taking tension off your triceps and stressing your shoulders.
Arching your lower back, relaxing your core and stressing your spine.
Moving at the shoulders instead of the elbows, turning the exercise into a press.

Breathing

Inhale as you bend your arms and lower down; exhale as you extend your elbows to press back up.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
