TRX Superman
back, glutes, shouldersTRX Suspension Trainer
A standing anti-extension exercise for core stability and shoulder girdle strength. It builds control through your core, glutes, and shoulders as you reach overhead, improving overall spinal alignment.
How to do it
1Stand facing away from the anchor point, holding the handles in front of you with straight arms.
2Step back and lean slightly forward, creating constant tension on the straps.
3Brace your core and squeeze your glutes, forming a rigid line from heels to head.
4Slowly raise your straight arms overhead while letting your torso lean forward under control.
5Lower until your arms align with your body, making sure not to arch your lower back.
6Press your arms back down to return to the start using core and shoulder control.
Common mistakes
Arching your lower back at the bottom, overloading the spine due to loss of core control.
Bending your elbows as you reach, shifting tension from the core to the triceps.
Shrugging your shoulders toward your ears, taking stability away from your upper back and overworking your traps.
Breathing
Inhale as you lean forward and extend your arms overhead. Exhale as you press back to the starting position.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
