TRX Standing Oblique Crunch

TRX Standing Oblique Crunch

Obliques, AbsTRX Suspension Trainer

Standing exercise targeting the obliques. Builds lateral stability and trunk control.

How to do it

1Stand sideways to the TRX anchor and grasp the handles overhead with both hands.
2Walk your feet sideways until the straps are taut and your body leans away from the anchor.
3Lower your hips smoothly to the side, feeling a stretch in your lateral torso.
4Contract your obliques to pull your hips and torso back up to the starting position.
5Complete your reps, then turn around and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Bending forward at the hips, shifting work away from the obliques to the hip flexors.
Dropping down suddenly without control, risking strain in your side muscles.
Letting the TRX straps go slack, which reduces continuous muscle tension.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower your hips to the side; exhale as you pull your torso back up.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
