TRX Jump Squat
Quads, Glutes, CalvesTRX Suspension Trainer
A plyometric exercise for the quads, glutes, and calves supported by TRX straps. The straps reduce axial loading on the spine and help control squat and jump mechanics.
How to do it
1Face the anchor point, grab the TRX handles, and set your feet shoulder-width apart.
2Lower into a squat, driving your hips back with a straight spine and light tension on the straps.
3Explode through your legs to jump straight up.
4Land softly on the balls of your feet, rolling back to your heels and absorbing right into the next squat.
5Keep your knees tracking over your toes during both the squat and landing.
Common mistakes
Landing hard on locked knees, sending impact straight into your joints.
Caving your knees inward, stressing knee ligaments.
Pulling too hard with your arms, taking work away from your legs.
Breathing
Inhale as you sit into the squat. Exhale as you explode into the jump.
