TRX Scorpion

Abs, obliques, lower back, glutesTRX Suspension Trainer

A rotational core exercise targeting the abs, obliques, back, and glutes while testing your balance. Performed in a single-leg TRX plank position.

How to do it

1Secure one foot in the TRX loops and set up in a high plank on extended arms.
2Lift your free leg and hold your body straight and parallel to the floor.
3Exhale as you bend your free leg and drive it across your body toward the opposite shoulder.
4Pause briefly at peak contraction, feeling your obliques bite.
5Inhale and control your free leg back to the starting plank position.

Common mistakes

Letting your lower back sag, placing unsafe strain on your spine.
Jerking the leg across, causing you to lose balance and swing the straps.
Rotating your shoulders along with your hips, which kills the core twist.

Breathing

Exhale as you twist and drive your knee across; inhale as you reset into the plank.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
