TRX Rip Trainer Low to High Chop
Obliques, Abs, Shoulders, Back, GlutesTRX Rip Trainer
A diagonal rotational drill using the TRX Rip Trainer to build core strength, shoulder control, and hip power. Teaches power transfer from lower to upper body against offset resistance.
How to do it
1Stand side-facing the anchor point, holding the Rip bar at hip height on the side closest to the anchor.
2Drop into a slight quarter squat, distributing weight evenly between both feet.
3Pivot off your back foot and drive your back hip forward to start the movement.
4Sweep the bar diagonally across your body from low to high over the opposite shoulder.
5Hold the top position for a second, locking in core tension and balance.
6Smoothly control the bar back along the same path to the start position.
Common mistakes
Pulling only with your arms without pivoting your back foot, straining the shoulder and losing power.
Hyperextending your lower back at the top of the movement.
Letting the cord yank you back down instead of resisting on the return phase.
Breathing
Exhale as you drive the bar diagonally overhead. Inhale as you control it back down.
Make it harder or easier
To regress, reduce cord resistance or finish the stroke at shoulder height. To progress, step further from the anchor or speed up the explosive drive phase.
