TRX Rip Trainer Lateral Bound

TRX Rip Trainer Lateral Bound

Quads, Glutes, Adductors, AbductorsTRX Rip Trainer

The TRX Rip Trainer lateral bound is a dynamic single-leg exercise that builds leg power, glute strength, and lateral stability. Resisting the asymmetrical cord tension forces you to master dynamic balance, coordination, and joint stability.

How to do it

1Stand sideways to the anchor point, holding the Rip Trainer bar with both hands at chest height.
2Shift your weight onto the working leg, keeping a soft bend in your knee and hip.
3Explode sideways away from the anchor point, fighting the tension of the cord.
4Land softly on the opposite leg, cushioning the impact by bending your knee to stay balanced.
5Hold the single-leg stance for a second, keeping total control of your torso and the bar.
6Bound back to the start or pause briefly before launching into your next rep.

Common mistakes

Landing hard on a straight leg, placing excessive impact on your joints.
Letting your knee cave inward upon landing, which strains knee ligaments.
Losing torso control against the elastic pull, causing lower back twisting.
Failing to stick the balance on landing, taking away the purpose of the exercise.

Breathing

Exhale forcefully as you bound and stick the landing. Inhale during the pause or as you reset to the start.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, switch from a bound to a controlled lateral step with a balance stick.
To make it harder, jump further or step away from the anchor to crank up resistance.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
