TRX Mountain Climber

TRX Mountain Climber

Abs, hip flexors, quadsTRX Suspension Trainer

A suspended plank exercise targeting the abs, hip flexors, and quads. Alternating knee drives forces your core to stabilize the pelvis, building functional core strength and stamina.

How to do it

1Place your feet in the TRX straps and set up in a high plank position.
2Align your body straight from head to heels, stacking your shoulders directly over your wrists.
3Drive one knee toward your chest while keeping your hips and lower back neutral.
4Extend that leg back while simultaneously driving the opposite knee toward your chest.
5Continue alternating knees in a smooth, controlled rhythm.

Common mistakes

Pumping your hips too high or letting them sag, taking tension off your core and straining your lower back.
Swinging your body side to side, signaling a loss of core control and creating unnecessary spinal rotation.
Drifting your shoulders back away from your hands, overloading the shoulder joints inefficiently.

Breathing

Breathe rhythmically: exhale with each knee drive, and inhale as you switch legs.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
