TRX Hip Abduction

TRX Hip Abduction

glutesTRX Suspension Trainer

Performed lying on your back with heels in the TRX, this exercise isolates the outer glutes. It strengthens the gluteus medius and minimus to improve overall pelvic stability.

How to do it

1Lie on your back, place your heels in the TRX cradles, and lift your hips slightly off the floor.
2Press your arms into the floor beside you for stability.
3Keeping your legs straight, smoothly spread them outward within a comfortable range.
4Pause briefly at the wide point, feeling your outer glutes work.
5Slowly bring your legs back together, maintaining constant tension on the straps.

Common mistakes

Letting your hips drop to the floor during the abduction.
Bending your knees, which shifts tension away from the target muscles.
Snapping your legs back together quickly, risking a groin strain.

Breathing

Exhale as you press your legs outward, and inhale as you bring them back together.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
