TRX Crunch

TRX Crunch

AbsTRX Suspension Trainer

The TRX crunch strengthens the core using suspension straps. The unstable setup forces deep stabilizer muscles to fire constantly.

How to do it

1Place your feet in the TRX straps and set up in a full push-up plank on your hands.
2Form a straight line from head to heels, tucking your pelvis and squeezing your glutes.
3Drive your knees toward your chest by contracting your abs, lifting your hips slightly.
4Pause for a second at the top of the squeeze while maintaining balance.
5Slowly extend back to the starting plank without letting your lower back arch.

Common mistakes

Arching the lower back on the return, placing stress on the lumbar spine.
Jerking or using momentum, taking tension off the abs and risking loss of control.
Pulling with your hip flexors instead of contracting your abs.

Breathing

Exhale as you drive your knees to your chest. Inhale as you return to the starting plank.

Make it harder or easier

To simplify, move further away from the anchor point or reduce the range of motion. To make it harder, move closer under the anchor or pause at peak contraction.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
