TRX Crossover Plank

TRX Crossover Plank

Abs, Obliques, CoreTRX Suspension Trainer

An anti-rotational core movement targeting your obliques and deep stabilizers from a TRX plank. Driving your knees diagonally to opposite elbows challenges core control under instability.

How to do it

1Place your feet in the TRX cradles and set up in a push-up plank or forearm plank position.
2Align your entire body, lock your hips in place, and brace your core tightly.
3Exhale as you drive one knee diagonally toward your opposite elbow.
4Inhale as you slowly return the leg back to the starting plank position.
5Repeat with the opposite knee to opposite elbow, keeping hip rotation to a minimum.

Common mistakes

Excessive hip twisting — takes tension off the obliques and loads the lower back.
Sagging hips — puts harmful hyperextension stress on your lumbar spine.
Rushing with momentum — robs your core muscles of stabilization effort.

Breathing

Exhale as you drive your knee across your torso; inhale as you reset into the plank.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, perform the movement from forearms with a shorter knee drive.
To make it harder, pause for one to two seconds at peak knee drive.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
