TRX Chest Press

TRX Chest Press

Chest, Shoulders, TricepsTRX Suspension Trainer

The TRX chest press is a push-up variation with your feet on the floor and hands holding unstable straps. It strengthens the chest, shoulder girdle, and triceps while heavily engaging your core stabilizers. Adjust your body angle to change the difficulty.

How to do it

1Grab the TRX handles, face away from the anchor point, and lean forward with your arms extended in front of you.
2Brace your core and squeeze your glutes to form a straight line from your head to your heels.
3Bend your elbows to smoothly lower your chest between the handles until your elbows reach a 90-degree angle.
4Press yourself back up to the starting position while keeping your core tight and without letting the straps rub against your arms.

Common mistakes

Sagging your hips or arching your lower back, which reduces core engagement and strains your spine.
Rubbing the TRX straps against your arms during the movement, signaling an incorrect elbow path.
Jutting your head forward or craning your neck, breaking a neutral spine alignment.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower your body down, and exhale as you press yourself back up.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
