TRX Push-Up

TRX Push-Up

Chest, Front Delts, Triceps, CoreTRX Straps

A push-up variation using suspension straps to target the chest, shoulders, and triceps. Strap instability forces deep stabilizer muscles to work much harder than in a floor push-up.

How to do it

1Grab the handles, lean forward into an incline plank, and extend your arms out in front of you.
2Form a rigid line from head to heels, keeping your core and glutes tight.
3Slowly bend your elbows and lower your chest between the handles under control.
4Lower until your elbows hit 90 degrees or you feel a comfortable chest stretch.
5Drive hard through the handles under control to return to the top position.

Common mistakes

Sagging your hips or piking your butt, breaking core tension and overloading your lower back.
Letting the straps rub against your arms, ruining your balance and path.
Flaring your elbows out wide near ear level, creating unsafe stress on the shoulder joint.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower your body down, and exhale as you press back to the start.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, step forward to make your body more upright; to make it harder, lengthen the straps or elevate your feet.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
