TRX Chest Fly

TRX Chest Fly

Chest, CoreTRX Straps

An isolation exercise using suspension straps designed to stretch and hit the pecs. Requires high concentration and continuous body control throughout the arc.

How to do it

1Grab the handles, lean forward, and extend your arms in front of you with a slight bend in your elbows.
2Lock that elbow angle in place and brace your abs hard.
3Slowly open your arms out to the sides, lowering your chest forward until you feel a comfortable chest stretch.
4Pause briefly at the bottom while keeping your shoulders stable.
5Squeeze your pecs to bring your hands back together in front of you.

Common mistakes

Bending and straightening your elbows, turning the fly into a push-up and taking focus off the chest.
Arching your lower back as your arms open, losing core tension and overextending your spine.
Opening your arms too wide without control, risking shoulder strain.

Breathing

Inhale as you open your arms wide, and exhale as you squeeze your chest to bring them back together.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, step closer to the anchor point to be more upright; to make it harder, step back to increase your body angle or elevate your feet.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
