Supported Quad Stretch
QuadsWall or Chair Support
A standing quad stretch using a wall or chair for balance. Helps safely release tension in the quadriceps and improve joint mobility, worked one leg at a time.
How to do it
1Stand facing a wall or chair and place one hand on it for support.
2Bend your opposite knee and catch your foot with the same-side hand.
3Gently pull your heel toward your glutes, keeping your hips level and knees together.
4Hold the stretch for the set duration, feeling a moderate pull along the front of your thigh.
5Smoothly release your foot and switch to the other side.
Common mistakes
Arching your lower back, shifting stress into your spine instead of the target muscle.
Flaring the bent knee outward, reducing stretch effectiveness and twisting the joint.
Yanking your foot back abruptly, putting excessive pressure on the knee joint.
Breathing
Breathe steadily throughout the hold. Take a deep exhale as you gently deepen the stretch.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
