Dumbbell Isometric Hold
ForearmsDumbbells
An isometric hold to build finger strength, wrist stability, and forearm endurance by holding heavy dumbbells for time.
How to do it
1Stand tall holding dumbbells at your sides with arms fully extended.
2Pull your shoulders back, pack your shoulder blades, and brace your core.
3Crush the dumbbell handles to prevent them from slipping.
4Hold the weight for the target time without breaking posture.
Common mistakes
Slouching and letting your shoulders round forward under the weight.
Holding your breath during the hold.
Using lifting straps, which completely removes the work from your grip.
Breathing
Breathe rhythmically and steadily throughout the hold.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, use lighter dumbbells or shorten the hold time.
To make it harder, attach fat grips to widen the handle diameter.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
