Star Jumps
Full BodyBodyweight
Dynamic cardio exercise jumping from a half-squat into a full star extension in mid-air. Engages your entire body and sharpens coordination.
How to do it
1Start in a half-squat with your torso leaned slightly forward and hands low.
2Explode upward, spreading your arms and legs wide out to the sides.
3At the peak of the jump, reach your arms high so your body forms a star shape.
4Land softly on the balls of your feet, immediately cushioning back into the half-squat.
Common mistakes
Landing on straight legs, putting severe impact on your spine and knees.
Skipping the squat cushion between reps, disrupting rhythm and overstressing tendons.
Throwing your head back during the jump, straining your neck muscles.
Breathing
Inhale at the bottom in the half-squat; exhale explosively as you spring upward.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, step out to the side while raising your arms without leaving the floor.
To scale up, focus on jumping as high as possible on every rep.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
