Standing Quad Stretch
QuadsBodyweight (Optional Support)
A gentle flexibility exercise that helps relieve tension in the front of your thigh. Performed standing, it works well as part of a warm-up or post-workout cool-down.
How to do it
1Stand tall, placing one hand on a wall or chair for balance if needed.
2Shift your weight to one leg, bend the other knee, and grab your foot behind you with the same-side hand.
3Gently pull your heel toward your glute, keeping your knees together and spine neutral.
4Hold this position for a few seconds, feeling a stretch along the front of your thigh.
5Slowly lower your leg and repeat on the other side.
Common mistakes
Arching your lower back, which reduces stretch effectiveness and strains your lower spine.
Flaring your knee out to the side, shifting the load angle and ruining control.
Jerking your foot back abruptly, which can cause ligament strain or knee discomfort.
Breathing
Breathe steadily and deeply without holding your breath during the stretch.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
