Standing Cable Hip Adduction

Standing Cable Hip Adduction

AdductorsLow Cable Machine

Strengthens the inner thigh muscles using a low cable pulley. Unilateral work builds leg balance and standing pelvic stability.

How to do it

1Attach an ankle cuff connected to a low cable to the leg closest to the machine and stand sideways to the stack.
2Step out to create tension on the cable and hold the machine frame for balance.
3Keep a soft bend in your standing knee and keep your torso upright.
4Pull the working leg across the front of your standing leg.
5Pause briefly at full contraction, then slowly return to the start position under control.

Common mistakes

Swinging your torso side to side steals tension from the inner thigh.
Locking out your standing knee places excessive stress on the knee joint.
Letting the cable pull your leg back rapidly increases risk of groin strain.

Breathing

Exhale as you pull your leg across your body and inhale as you control it back.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
