Side Shuffle

Side Shuffle

Glutes, AdductorsBodyweight

Lateral side-steps targeting the glutes and inner thighs to build dynamic side-to-side joint stability.

How to do it

1Stand tall with a slight bend in your knees and push your hips back slightly.
2Take a controlled step to the side with one foot.
3Step the other foot in, ending hip-width apart.
4Complete all reps in one direction.
5Repeat in the opposite direction with the same step distance.

Common mistakes

Locking out your knees completely, which dumps tension off the glutes.
Letting your knees cave inward as you step, stressing the knee joints.
Taking jerky, overwide steps that throw off your balance.

Breathing

Exhale as you step out, inhale as you bring your feet back together.

Make it harder or easier

Stand more upright to lighten the load, or sink into a deeper quarter-squat to dial up the challenge.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
