Shadowboxing

Full BodyBodyweight

Full-body cardio drill simulating a fight against an imaginary opponent. Develops endurance, shoulder power, and core stability.

How to do it

1Get into a boxing stance with your knees soft, elbows bent, and hands guarding your face.
2Throw straight punches, hooks, and uppercuts, pivoting off your back foot and hips.
3Stay light on your toes, moving dynamically and slipping imaginary punches.
4Keep your core braced throughout the set to stay stable and balanced.

Common mistakes

Fully locking out your elbow at the end of a punch, overstressing the joint.
Dropping your hands, leaving your head unprotected and removing static load from your shoulders.
Keeping your feet glued to the floor, which blocks hip rotation and reduces power.

Breathing

Exhale sharply with every punch; inhale as you snap your hand back to guard.

Make it harder or easier

To scale down, slow down your pace and practice basic straight punches on the spot.
To scale up, add rapid footwork, side steps, and slips.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
