Seated Marching

Seated Marching

Hip Flexors, Quads, CoreChair

A gentle seated mobility drill that activates the hip flexors, quads, and core without joint stress. Perfect for warm-ups or low-impact lower-body activation.

How to do it

1Sit upright on the edge of a chair with feet flat, hip-width apart, and a tall spine.
2Smoothly lift one knee up toward your chest, keeping the bend in your knee and your torso still.
3Pause for a fraction of a second at the top, engaging your abs to stay balanced.
4Lower your foot back to the floor without slamming it down.
5Repeat on the opposite leg in a controlled rhythm.

Common mistakes

Slouching or leaning back as the leg rises, taking work off the abs and stressing the lower back.
Using momentum to jerk the knee up instead of muscular control.
Tilting your hips to the side as you step, breaking spine alignment.

Breathing

Exhale as you raise your knee, inhale as you lower it to the floor.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
