Resistance Band Bicep Curl

Resistance Band Bicep Curl

BicepsResistance Band

An accessible isolation exercise for building biceps using a resistance band. Band tension increases smoothly as you stretch it, providing continuous resistance throughout the movement.

How to do it

1Stand on the center of the band with both feet, holding the handles or ends with an underhand grip.
2Stand straight with shoulders down and knees slightly soft for a stable base.
3Exhale and curl your hands toward your shoulders, driving the movement with your biceps.
4Hold and squeeze at peak contraction for a split second.
5Inhale and lower under control back to the start, keeping light tension on the band.

Common mistakes

Pulling your elbows back, shifting engagement to the rear delts instead of the biceps.
Allowing the band to go completely slack at the bottom, losing muscle tension.
Hunching your back or shrugging your shoulders, creating unwanted neck strain.

Breathing

Exhale as you curl up toward your shoulders, and inhale as you return to the start.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, use a lighter resistance band or stand on it with one foot. To make it harder, grip lower on the band to increase tension.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
