Push-up with Rotation

Chest, Shoulders, ObliquesBodyweight

Push-up combined with a torso rotation and arm reach. Strengthens the chest, shoulders, and obliques while challenging single-side stability.

How to do it

1Start in a standard high plank with hands shoulder-width apart and your body in a straight line.
2Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the floor.
3Press back up to the top position.
4Rotate your torso to the right, extending your right arm straight up toward the ceiling.
5Return to the plank and repeat on the opposite side.

Common mistakes

Letting your hips sag during the twist, straining the lower back and losing core tension.
Reaching the top arm too far behind your back, stressing the shoulder joint.
Rotating too fast or jerkily, causing you to lose balance.

Breathing

Inhale as you lower, exhale as you press up and rotate into the reach.

Make it harder or easier

To regress, drop your knees to the floor; to progress, hold the rotation for 2–3 seconds or add a dumbbell.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
