Plate-Loaded Wrist Machine Curl
ForearmsWrist machine
Isolates the forearms using a fixed machine trajectory. Safely targets wrist flexors or extensors to build forearm size and wrist strength.
How to do it
1Set your weight and sit with your forearms resting flat on the support pads.
2Grip the handles securely using your target grip.
3Flex or extend your wrists through a full range of motion.
4Pause briefly at peak contraction.
5Return to the starting position under control, keeping constant tension.
Common mistakes
Overextending the wrist joint, putting unsafe strain on ligaments.
Engaging elbows or shoulders instead of moving purely at the wrist.
Jerking the machine levers using momentum.
Breathing
Exhale on the contraction. Inhale as you return to the start.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, lower the weight and shorten the range of motion.
To make it harder, add a two- to three-second hold at peak contraction.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
