Overhead Kettlebell Carry
shoulders, rotator cuff, core, lower backKettlebell
A single-arm overhead carry that builds shoulder stability, core strength, and proper gait under load.
How to do it
1Press the kettlebell overhead and lock out your elbow completely, stacking your joints.
2Pack your shoulder blade down, brace your core, and stand tall.
3Walk forward taking smooth, slow, deliberate steps.
4Keep your eyes forward and ensure your working arm stays locked out tight.
5After finishing the distance, lower the weight to your shoulder, then to the floor.
Common mistakes
Allowing the elbow to bend, shifting load off the skeleton and straining muscles.
Hyperextending your lower back or leaning back, increasing spine injury risk.
Rushing or walking too fast, losing torso control and center of gravity.
Breathing
Breathe smoothly and rhythmically throughout the walk; do not hold your breath.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, use a lighter weight or reduce the carry distance.
To scale up, slow down your pace or walk along a straight narrow line.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
