Mini Band Walks
GlutesMini band
A staple mini-band exercise to fire up the glutes, especially the gluteus medius. Develops pelvic stability and improves knee tracking.
How to do it
1Place a mini-band around your shins or above your knees, standing with feet hip-width apart.
2Sit into a light quarter squat with your chest up and back flat.
3Take a controlled step to the right, maintaining tension on the band.
4Step your left leg in, resetting feet to hip-width while keeping constant tension.
5Complete your reps to one side, then walk back the opposite way.
Common mistakes
Letting your knees cave inward, shifting load and stressing the joints.
Letting the band go fully slack when stepping in, losing constant muscle tension.
Swaying your upper body side to side, shifting load off your glutes and into your lower back.
Breathing
Breathe deeply and steadily throughout—exhale on the side step, inhale as you bring your back leg in.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
