Incline Machine Press
Upper Chest, Front Delts, TricepsIncline Press Machine
The incline chest press machine safely targets the upper chest and front shoulders. The fixed motion path lets you focus purely on muscle contraction without balancing heavy weights.
How to do it
1Adjust the seat height so the handles align with your upper chest.
2Plant your feet firmly and keep your upper back and glutes pressed flat against the pad.
3Grip the handles slightly wider than shoulder-width and pack your shoulder blades back and down.
4Exhale and press the handles up and forward, stopping just short of locking out your elbows.
5Inhale and slowly lower the weight back to the starting position.
Common mistakes
Arching your lower back off the pad, which stresses the spine.
Locking out your elbows at the top, transferring load from muscles to joints.
Lifting your heels off the floor, reducing overall stability and power.
Breathing
Exhale as you press the handles away; inhale as you slowly control the weight back down.
Make it harder or easier
To lower intensity, reduce the weight or decrease depth.
To increase intensity, slow down the lowering phase to 3–4 seconds.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
