Parallette L-Sit Hold

Parallette L-Sit Hold

Abs, obliques, hip flexors, shoulders, tricepsParallettes

An advanced isometric hold that demands heavy core, hip flexor, and shoulder stability. Excellent for building upper body pushing power and body control.

How to do it

1Set parallettes parallel at shoulder width and grab them with a neutral grip.
2Lock out your elbows, drive your shoulders down away from your ears, and lift your hips off the floor.
3Brace your core and raise your straight legs until they are parallel to the floor.
4Hold this position by actively pushing down into the parallettes and staying tight.
5Lower your legs back to the floor smoothly when your hold time is up.

Common mistakes

Bending your elbows, which dumps stress onto the joints and ruins balance.
Shrugging shoulders into your neck and sagging through your shoulder girdle.
Rounding your back excessively instead of keeping your torso tall and braced.

Breathing

Don't hold your breath; take short, controlled breaths while keeping your core rock solid.

Make it harder or easier

To scale down, bend your knees and hold a tucked position.
To scale up, lift your straight legs above parallel or press your hips slightly forward.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
