Side Lunge Stretch

Side Lunge Stretch

adductors, hamstrings, glutesBodyweight

A bodyweight lateral lunge stretch designed to gently open up the adductors, hamstrings, and glutes.

How to do it

1Stand tall with your feet placed wide apart and toes pointing straight ahead.
2Shift your weight onto one leg, bending that knee and driving your hips back.
3Keep the opposite leg completely straight, feeling a stretch along your inner thigh.
4Keep your chest up and back flat, resting your hands on your thigh or the floor for balance.
5Smoothly return to the center and repeat on the opposite side.

Common mistakes

Letting your working knee travel far past your toes, placing excess strain on the joint.
Lifting the heel of your bent leg off the floor, throwing off your balance.
Rounding your back excessively, taking the tension off the target muscles.

Breathing

Breathe deeply and steadily, exhaling gently as you deepen the stretch.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
