Landmine Anti-Rotation Press
Obliques, Abs, ShouldersBarbell, Landmine Base
The landmine anti-rotation press builds shoulder strength and core stability. It trains your body to maintain a rock-solid torso while moving weight across an arc.
How to do it
1Face the landmine, cupping the top end of the barbell with both hands at chest height.
2Brace your abs, pull your shoulders back, and unlock your knees for a stable stance.
3Press the barbell overhead at a forward diagonal until your arms are fully extended.
4Lower the bar in an arc to one side while keeping your hips and torso completely square.
5Sweep the bar back through the center to the opposite side, then return to your chest.
Common mistakes
Rotating your entire body as the bar moves, missing the anti-rotational core benefit.
Arching your lower back overhead, putting high shear stress on your spine.
Letting the bar drop quickly to the sides without controlling the resistance.
Breathing
Exhale as you press and arc the bar; inhale as you pull it back to center.
Make it harder or easier
To simplify, limit how far side-to-side you lower the bar. To make it harder, add weight to the sleeve.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
