Kneeling Quad Stretch

Kneeling Quad Stretch

Quads, Hip flexorsBodyweight

A kneeling stretch to gently target your quad and hip flexors. Perfect for restoring flexibility after long periods of sitting or running.

How to do it

1Kneel on one knee with your front leg bent at a 90-degree angle.
2Slightly tuck your pelvis, draw in your abdomen, and keep your torso upright.
3Grab the foot of your back leg and smoothly pull your heel toward your glute.
4Shift your hips slightly forward while maintaining an upright torso and tension in your quad.
5Hold this position without bouncing or jerking.

Common mistakes

Arching your lower back excessive, which reduces quad tension and strains your spine.
Rotating your hips to the side, distorting proper movement mechanics.
Pressing directly on your kneecap without a soft mat or pad.

Breathing

Breathe slowly and deeply, letting your muscles relax with every exhale.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, rest your hand on a chair for balance or keep your heel further from your glute.
To make it harder, drive your hips slightly further forward.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
