Kneeling Middle Cable Press

Kneeling Middle Cable Press

Chest, Front DeltsCable Crossover

Kneeling mid-cable press targeting the main chest muscle and front shoulders. The kneeling setup anchors your lower body, demanding strict core control while the cables keep constant tension on the chest.

How to do it

1Set the cable handles at chest height and kneel directly between the towers.
2Grab the handles, pull them to your chest, and maintain an upright posture with tight abs.
3Lean forward slightly for stability, pulling your shoulders down and back.
4Exhale and press the handles straight out in front of you, keeping your shoulders down.
5Inhale as you slowly bend your elbows back, feeling a deep stretch across your chest.

Common mistakes

Losing a neutral spine — ruins your balance and loads your lower back unfairly.
Shrugging your shoulders up — shifts work away from your chest and into your upper traps.
Letting your arms fly back too fast — risks overstretching shoulder ligaments.

Breathing

Inhale as you bend your arms and let the cables pull back. Exhale as you press forward.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, lower the weight or put one foot forward in a half-kneeling position.
To make it harder, pause at full extension to maximize peak contraction.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
