Kneeling Low-to-High Cable Press

Kneeling Low-to-High Cable Press

Upper Chest, Front DeltsCable Crossover

Low-to-high kneeling cable press focusing on the upper chest and front delts. The kneeling position removes leg assistance, forcing complete focus onto the target upper chest muscles.

How to do it

1Kneel between the cable towers with the pulleys set to the bottom position.
2Grab the handles, keep your torso upright, core tight, and shoulder blades pulled back.
3Exhale and press the handles up and slightly forward, bringing your hands together at upper-chest height.
4Pause for a second at the top, squeezing your upper chest hard.
5Inhale and lower back to the start under control, feeling a smooth stretch.

Common mistakes

Arching heavily in your lower back — increases unwanted pressure on your spine.
Swinging your torso for momentum — lowers work on the target muscles and raises injury risk.
Dropping the weight rapidly at the bottom — loses control and strains your shoulder joints.

Breathing

Exhale as you press the handles up into contraction. Inhale as you lower them smoothly back down.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, lower the weight or step one foot forward into a half-kneeling stance.
To make it harder, hold a static pause at the point of maximum contraction.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
