Kneeling High-to-Low Cable Press
Lower Chest, Front DeltsCable Crossover
Kneeling high-to-low cable press targeting the lower chest. Taking your legs out of the equation forces your core to stay active, while the cables maintain constant tension throughout the entire range of motion.
How to do it
1Set the cable pulleys high, grab the handles, and kneel in the middle of the station.
2Stand tall on your knees, brace your core, and hold the handles near your upper chest.
3Hinge slightly forward from the hips with a flat back and a stable pelvis.
4Exhale and press the handles down and forward, bringing your hands together near your lower abs.
5Inhale and slowly return to the start, controlling the pull of the cables.
Common mistakes
Swinging your body — takes tension away from your chest and relies on momentum.
Arching excessively in your lower back — puts unnecessary strain on your spine.
Letting the handles snap back quickly at the top — risks overstretching your shoulder joints.
Breathing
Exhale as you press down and bring your hands together. Inhale slowly as you return to the starting point.
Make it harder or easier
To make it easier, reduce the weight or adopt a half-kneeling stance with one foot forward for balance.
To make it harder, pause and squeeze your pecs hard for 2 seconds at full extension.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
