Kettlebell Push Press

Kettlebell Push Press

Shoulders, Triceps, Quads, Glutes, CoreKettlebells

A foundational overhead press that uses leg drive to pop kettlebells overhead. Builds shoulder strength and full-body coordination.

How to do it

1Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart, kettlebells locked in the rack position on your chest.
2Take a quick, shallow dip by bending your knees while keeping your torso vertical.
3Explosively extend your legs, transferring power upward into the kettlebells.
4Drive the kettlebells overhead to full elbow lockout.
5Lower the kettlebells back to your chest under control, absorbing the weight with a slight knee bend.

Common mistakes

Arching your lower back as you press overhead.
Squatting too deep on the dip, losing speed and power.
Lifting your heels during the dip, throwing off balance.

Breathing

Inhale before the dip, and exhale as you drive through your legs and press overhead.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
