Single-Arm Kettlebell Front Rack Squat
Quads, Glutes, Hamstrings, Lower back, Obliques, CoreKettlebell
An asymmetrical squat holding a kettlebell in the single-arm rack position. It hits your legs and glutes while forcing your core to resist lateral leaning, building dynamic balance and symmetrical strength.
How to do it
1Clean a kettlebell into the front rack on one side, tucking your elbow close to your ribcage.
2Set your feet shoulder-width apart with toes turned slightly out.
3Sit back and down into a squat, keeping your torso as upright as possible.
4Squat to a comfortable depth while keeping your shoulders square.
5Drive hard through the floor to return to the starting position.
Common mistakes
Leaning toward the kettlebell, shifting your center of gravity and straining your lower back.
Letting your knees cave inward as you squat.
Lifting your heels off the ground, shifting weight onto your toes.
Breathing
Inhale as you pull yourself down into the squat. Exhale as you drive back up.
Make it harder or easier
To make it easier, use a lighter kettlebell or squat to a box. To make it harder, go heavier or pause at the bottom.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
