Kettlebell Front Rack Carry

Kettlebell Front Rack Carry

Core, Quads, Traps, ForearmsKettlebell

This exercise is a single-arm carry held in the front rack position. It builds lateral core stability, strengthens the abs, and packs strength into the shoulder girdle. The asymmetrical load forces your stabilizers to work overtime to keep your posture tall.

How to do it

1Safely clean the kettlebell into a front rack—handle resting across your forearm, elbow pinned tight to your ribs.
2Stand tall, pull your shoulders down, and brace your core to lock your pelvis in place.
3Walk forward with slow, controlled steps, keeping your torso completely upright.
4Keep your shoulders level—don't lean toward or away from the kettlebell.
5Walk the set distance, carefully lower the bell, and repeat on the other side.

Common mistakes

Leaning backward or sideways, overtaxing your lower back and turning off your core.
Flaring your elbow out to the side, placing unnecessary strain on the shoulder joint.
Rushing your steps, losing posture control and increasing the risk of tripping.

Breathing

Maintain a smooth, rhythmic breath in pace with your steps—never hold your air.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
