High-to-Low Cable Crossover
Lower ChestCable Crossover
Focuses tension on the lower pecs. The high-to-low trajectory helps shape the lower chest contour while keeping shoulders in a comfortable position.
How to do it
1Attach handles to the top pulleys and stand centered between the cable stacks.
2Grasp the handles, step forward, and lean your straight torso slightly forward.
3Set a soft bend in your elbows and keep that angle fixed throughout the set.
4Sweep your hands down and together in front of you toward your lower abdomen.
5Return your arms to the starting position under control, feeling your pecs stretch.
Common mistakes
Rounding your back and slouching, which disengages the chest and overloads the shoulders.
Letting the weight yank your arms back abruptly, risking strain to joints and ligaments.
Bending and extending at the elbows, bringing the triceps into play.
Breathing
Exhale as you sweep your hands down and inhale smoothly as you return to the starting position.
Make it harder or easier
To scale down, lessen the weight or step closer to the machine; to make it harder, slightly cross your hands over at the bottom.
This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
