Supported Heel-to-Toe Walk
Calves, FeetWall or Railing
Supported heel-to-toe walking is a low-impact exercise designed to improve foot mobility, lower leg strength, and balance control.
How to do it
1Stand next to a wall or handrail, lightly resting your fingertips on it for balance.
2Place one foot directly in front of the other so the front heel touches the rear toe.
3Shift your weight onto the front foot, rolling smoothly from heel to full foot to toe.
4Step forward with the back foot, placing its heel right against the toe of your standing foot.
5Walk forward along a straight line, keeping an upright posture and controlling every step.
Common mistakes
Leaning heavily on the wall or handrail, reducing work for your feet and ankles.
Rushing the steps instead of focusing on a smooth, full heel-to-toe roll.
Looking straight down at your feet, which disrupts spine alignment and balance.
Breathing
Breathe naturally and rhythmically, matching your breath to your steps.
