Hammer Strength Incline Chest Press

Hammer Strength Incline Chest Press

Upper Chest, Front Delts, TricepsIncline Hammer Strength chest press

Targets the upper pecs, front delts, and triceps along a fixed incline press path. Helps balance shoulder press strength with strict control.

How to do it

1Set seat height so handles start level with your upper chest.
2Keep back and hips pressed to the seat, plant feet, and grip handles medium-wide.
3Exhale and press up and forward in an arc, keeping shoulders pinned down.
4Maintain a soft bend in your elbows at the top to keep tension on the muscle.
5Inhale and slowly lower back to starting position under control.

Common mistakes

Shrugging shoulders up toward your ears — overworks traps and stresses shoulders.
Lifting hips off the seat — changes press angle and reduces upper pec recruitment.
Rushing repetitions — skips the controlled stretch phase.

Breathing

Exhale as you press up against resistance; inhale as you return smoothly to start.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, drop the weight and focus on line of press. To make it harder, slow down the lowering phase.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
