Hammer Strength Decline Chest Press

Hammer Strength Decline Chest Press

Lower Chest, Front Delts, TricepsIncline Hammer Strength chest press

Emphasizes the lower chest while recruiting triceps and anterior delts. The downward arc isolates chest tissue while staying friendly on the shoulder joints.

How to do it

1Adjust the seat so the handles sit at lower-chest level.
2Sit tall, pin your shoulder blades to the back pad, plant feet, and grip handles.
3Exhale and press down and forward smoothly, keeping elbows slightly tucked.
4Avoid hard-locking elbow joints at the end of the press.
5Inhale and control the handles back up without letting the stack drop.

Common mistakes

Flaring elbows straight out — creates harsh joint shear on shoulders.
Slouching or rounding shoulders forward — disengages the chest.
Lifting feet off the floor — removes your stable driving foundation.

Breathing

Exhale on the downward press; inhale as handles return to starting position.

Make it harder or easier

To make it easier, lower the weight and press partial range. To make it harder, hold peak contraction for 1–2 seconds.

This is general guidance, not a medical opinion. Listen to your body: if it hurts, stop. If you have an injury or a chronic condition, talk to a doctor first.
